I've been always in loved with Pinback, but personally i think this fourth release presents itself with a horrible cover art - it looks like videogame stuff, what's that? (sorry Mike Sutfin..), - i mean, good execution, although i firmly dig more previous artworks: more indie, shy. - Said that, i can add that Armistead Burwell Smith IV (formerly, and maybe next-to-come-back, in amazing Three Mile Pilot) and Rob Crow haven't signed a real difference from former Blue Screen Life and amazing Summer In Abaddon, except done for some more prominent piano and fuzzy guitar parts, rendering Their Music somehow slightly more accessible. I mean, it's exactly what You could expect from Pinback, yet with no much surprise: beautiful harmonies, often synchopated, poppy in a different way and brilliant, uptempoed drumming (performed by Mario Rubalcaba (ex-Rocket From The Crypt) and No Knife's Chris Prescott), excellent two-vocals work, unmistakable double bass, rich structures, spleen, - personally with highlights on Barnes and Blue Harvest. - They're still heroes of sophisticated feelings and delicacy (sweet Subbing for Eden), lyrically reflective and charming, - btw This new release, coming 3 years after previous album, doesn't mark an effective change to my ears, and i still don't know if i'm satisfied or not.

not yet, probably nobody cares, or nobody cared enough to tell something. Also: nobody reads komakino.
