Breezy and cold like a gentle Autumn wind, In the Gloaming is Friends of Alice Ivy's second release.
Soundscapes of elegant melancholia written by Amps, slow paced melodies (The Summerland Meadows), often nearly still, coloured by a spectrum of luminous greys, all highly bucolic, - the sound theater for Kyiie's subtle and ethereal voice, in a sort of gothic shoegaze frame, fed with strings, synth, guitar, sometimes with minimal drums swallowed into reverb.
This new six track EP is perfect in its motionless nature of delicacy, ready to turn and bloom into frailty: since its title, the opening Song of Somnus clearly introduces the listener to a hanging state of ecstatic trance and requiem (actually, there is A Requiem for Fuchsia), - so, it follows a tracklist which captures the mild intimacy of madrigal poetry (Tristan & Iseult). Soundscape di elegante melanconia, scritta da Amps, melodie dal passo lento (The Summerland Meadows), spesso anche immobili, colorate da uno spettro di luminosi grigi, immagini altamente bucoliche, - teatro del suono per la voce sottile ed eterica di Kylie, in una sorta di cornice shoegaze gotica, nutrita di archi, synth, chitarra, a volte con della minimale partecipazione di tamburi inghiottiti nel riverbero.
Questo nuovo EP di sei tracce è perfetto nella sua natura immota di delicatezza pronta a mutare e fiorire in fragilità: sin dal titolo del primo pezzo, Song of Somnus, introduce chiaramente l'ascoltatore ad un sospeso stato di estatica trance e requiem (anzi, c'è proprio A Requiem for Fuchsia),cosí, segue una tracklist che cattura la mite intimità della poesia madrigale (Tristan & Iseult).
