Cool, two cute buttons for free! - that is my first thought as
i opened the package and i seen the whistling bird on a pin, - package
containing the debut CD these excellent young shoegazers from Baltimora
sent me. - And who cares of the business cards included (what?) too, -
and so the post-cards, stickers, and other stuff filled in.. - that's
not for me. - Music is all i need (and buttons, too). - Btw, Their
guitarist Casey Harvey knows how to make pure reverb of His guitar: a burning flame calmed down by psychedelic slow waves of sound (Loyalty), - without trespassing noise-pop boundary, especially thanks to the gentle vocals of melancholic Anna Conner, Thrushes found a great connection between a mellow (often blowing up) shoegaze and fascinating accessible songwriting. - Heartbeats, with its guitar and percussion, made me think of Joy Division's Atmosphere or Jesus & Marychain's Just Like Honey. - In the Woods
is tension and explosion, spleen mixed with amazing drumming crescendo,
- i dream to hear this song performed live, as well for Flying's drift. - Thrushes
are heroes of echo & reverbs, harmony and dissonance melted
together, - and You can hear They're young - maybe only because of Her
voice (on Ghost Train as Anna screams, She made me remember of The Go! Team
Ninja), - but that's even one more reason i'm pretty excited of Their
sound maturity. - Total charm, fresh notwitstanding the well known
rules of genre; - almost sublime. - Music @ myspace/thrushes

Fico! due spillette gratis! - Questo è stato il mio primo pensiero quando ho aperto il pacchetto e ho visto l'usignolo fischiettante su una delle due spillette, - pacchetto contenente il CD debutto di questi eccellenti giovani shoegazer di Baltimora. - E chisseneimporta dei biglietti da visita inclusi (??), e le cartoline, adesivi, e altra roba infilata dentro.. - non è cosa per me. - La Musica è ciò di cui ho bisogno (e, sovente, spillette). - Cmq sia, il Loro chitarrista Casey Harvey sa esattamente come fare della Sua chitarra del puro riverbero: una fiamma che brucia, calmata da lente onde psichedeliche di suono (Loyalty), - senza oltrepassare il confine noise-pop, - specialmente grazie alla gentile voce della malinconica Anna Conner, - e cosí i Thrushes hanno trovato la connessione tra lo shoegaze più mellifluo (a tratti esplosivo) e un songwriting fascinoso e accessibile. - Heartbeats, con la sua chitarra e percussioni, mi ha fatto pensare ad Atmosphere dei Joy Division, o alla Just Like Honey dei Jesus & Marychain. - In the Woods è tensione ed esplosione, uno spleen mixato ad un ottimo crescendo di batteria, - sogno di sentirmi questa canzone dal vivo, - come anche il trasporto di Flying. - I Thrushes sono eroi di echi e riverberi, armonia e dissonanze mischiate insieme, - e viene facile riconoscere che sono giovani, - forse anche solo per la voce di Lei (su Ghost Train come Anna urla mi viene da pensare alla Ninja di The Go! Team), - ma questa è anche una delle ragioni per cui sono piuttosto felice della maturità precoce del Loro sound. - Charm totale, fresco nonostante le regole ben note del genere, - quasi sublimi. - Music @ myspace/thrushes
