Handpackaged, cardboard cover, first limited edition to 100 copies, So Far From Winter To Fall EP signs La Calle Mojada's debut, - excellent shoegaze / dreampop three piece Band from Rome, - last year featured with Rhomer on Raise rec's CD sampler, Clouds (read past komareview).
Title track So Far From Winter To Fall is for itself a multicolour gem such it's so precious and fragile: dramatic male vocals and ethereal sound frames, a trascendental slow run able to call shivers and tears (we share a dream / do you shake your hands, falling?), an ecstatic final touching guitar solo, - a spiritual sheer elevation truly deserving to become a classic for the shoegaze genre.
While Secret Bliss is in a house of stargazing mirrors, reflecting wistful and exciting prospectives, Skies as Ceilings follows a quiter pattern of celestial pop melodies, strong of a melancholinc chorus claiming denied bliss (..and You were thinking / it's not enough..); Lead Star is enriched with a sad-tone horn on close-up, later joined by an acid guitar solo; last track Early Closing Days hides an unexpected overture to some lyrical noise pop, swirling and suggestive.
So Far From Winter To Fall EP marks for La Calle Mojada Their enviable addiction for reverb, echo and all other auditory drugs to make You walk one foot above the ground and put You to sleep like a baby.

Confezionato a mano, supporto in cartoncino, una prima edizione limitata a 100 copie, - So Far From Winter To Fall EP segna il debutto dei La Calle Mojada, eccellente trio shoegaze / dreampop di Roma, lo scorso anno col brano Rhomer ospiti del sampler Clouds (leggi passata komarecensio) della Raise rec.
La title track So Far From Winter To Fall è di per sè una gemma multicolore tanto è preziosa e fragile: cantato drammatico di Marco Poloni e cornici sonore eteree, una trascendentale lenta corsa capace di chiamare brividi e lacrime (we share a dream / do you shake your hands falling?), un assolo finale estatico, - una pura elevazione spirituale che merita di diventare un classico per il genere shoegaze.
Mentre Secret Bliss è all'interno di una casa di specchi stargaze, a rifrangere prospettive nostalgiche ed eccitanti, Skies as Ceilings segue un disegno più quieto di melodie pop celesti, forti di un ritornello malinconico che reclama beatitudine negata (..and You were thinking / it's not enough..); Lead Star è invece arricchita del suono di un corno in primo piano, in seguito raggiunto da un acido solo di chitarra; la traccia Early Closing Days nasconde infine un'apertura inattesa a del lirico noise pop, volteggiante ed evocativo.
So Far From Winter To Fall EP marca per i La Calle Mojada un'assuefazione invidiabile per riverbero, eco, e tutte le altre droghe uditive per farVi camminare a un piede da terra e metterVi a dormire come bimbi.
