From Sardinia, but based in Bologna, one-man Band Trees of Mint releases a label debut album more recognizable as a collection of ten delicate fragile private pop-songs, where Francesco Serra's bright clean guitar sound (a beauty not far from Cat Power's Moon Pix or Sparklehorse) and vocals cradle the listener while He is reading pages of His diary. Dreamy, sometimes dangerously narcotic (After All), - often accompanied by a rythm section wisely performed by Andrea Siddu of Plasma Expander. - I found some highlights on nice happy-song Today Polaroid - potential hit with that loop of guitar chime -, Pale Building, and instrumental Rail Roads - track full of grace - as well as the prelude Defrost, so minute and enchanting at the same time. This album made me remind of Prague, same loneliness, different views. - Grab a cup of tea, enjoy.

Trees of Mint - Micro Meadow...
