Fanny Kaplan

(6tx digital/k7/vinyl, Raccoon’s Ass rec / self-released 2016)

Recorded live in studio on a 4 channel, Muscovite Fanny Kaplan are back with a new record, a self-titled mini LP, still faithful to their orthodoxy of "no overdubs, cuts and corrections", follow-up to their пластилин / plastilin (June 2014).
Pure no-wave/post-punk spirit. Genuinely revivalist (willing or not), still, able to be on the boundary of contemporary experimentalism.
Nervously percussive, like trying to focus a point among Kevin Haskins and Stephen Morris (the frenzy of povod nakrit'sya / the reason to cover self up, as well as zaperto / locked up), sick waves of synths, groovy as dirt bass-lines, female vocals, which, somehow, remind me of (let me dust this off) Stimmen Der Stille
Someone should reprint Batcave: Young Limbs And Numb Hymns and add their name on it.
Lusia - vocals, synthesizer, Karina - bass, Dina - drums, are also selling a hand-made swimsuit for 1'000 euros, if that may be of your interest. It would be perfect to dive into the blending waves of the darkness and psychotic fast narrative of their tunes.
Finally, shema ustarela sekundu nazad / the scheme expired a second ago is a restless rush to the end, exit from a maze shaped of spiritual spirals of nihilism.
Press play, enjoy.

not yet, probably nobody cares, or nobody cared enough to tell something. Also: nobody reads komakino.
