L'essere solo è anche quella strana attrazione al sopravvivere negli istanti più difficili; quando per superare certi momenti non c'è più nessuno a cui aggrapparti. Sarà forse questa condizione di “uno contro tutti” che mi affascina alquanto del fenomeno Monobanda; convinto che anche solo una persona può fare molto rumore.
Con Dead Drugs di rumore se ne sente parecchio. Ascoltando il suo debutto in 7' per la statunitense Manglor Records viene fuori tutta la violenza, la sfrontatezza, la potenza, la gioventù di questo ragazzaccio dell'Illinois.
Il lato A-pre con Pillow Talk; chitarra tirata e percussioni prese letteralmente a calci. C'è chi preferisce gli antidepressivi, io rimango convinto che è meglio avere la consapevolezza di quello che si assume. Con She Do, Dead Drugs mi regala un'altra botta di quelle che ti levano la parola. Il ragazzaccio dell'Illinois ha qualcosa che brucia dentro; il peggior incendio estivo al confronto sembra un falò sulla spiaggia.
Boogerface Boogie è l'esordio del secondo lato. Il rock'n'roll diventa marcio come l'epilogo di certi party a cui non tutti sono invitati. I'm Fucking Someone Else e Dead Drugs sembra il surrogato dei Kinks impreziosito dal genio Looserz del vecchio John Anthony Genzale, Jr.. Con Records & Dope non si chiude solo questo sbalorditivo 7'; ma anche la sostanza di come vanno spesso a finire certe notti insonni.

Maybe this condition of "one against all" fascinates me, and I find it as well in the one-man-band phenomenon; I'm sure that even one sole person can make a lot of noise.
And with Dead Drugs, you got a lot of noise. Listen to this debut 7 '', released for the US Manglor Records, and it comes out all the violence, the effrontery, the power, the youth of this bad boy from Illinois.
