Se verranno in tour in Italia, siamo curiosi di capire quale sia la decorazione appropriata che sceglieranno di mettere sopra i loro ampli.
Di sicuro i Proper Ornaments, la prima cosa che toglieranno dalla valigia per rendere più accogliente la loro camera d'albergo anche qui a Roma sarà una cornice d'argento con dentro qualche foto dei Velvet Underground o Guided by Voices.
Per uno scherzo del destino e la gioia dei promoter che amano presentare le loro band con qualche gioco di parole, i Proper Ornaments sono stati ripetutamente in tour con i Real estate.
Anche se con un indole molto meno paurosamente nerd, proprio come la band di Martin Courtney e Matthew Mondanile i nostri sono da sempre pieno trip con gli anni '60.
Con Wooden Head, l'ensemble con dentro ex membri di Veronica Falls dimostra di non guardare al passato da una casa vuota, ma ben ammobiliata da qualche amico dei Crystal Stilts senza l'istinto per la morte e con l'affaccio sulla sala hobby dei Toy, di cui sono pure sodali. Se i Supreme Dicks avessero avuto un'attitudine più prossima al postmoderno, e qualche vicino che gli avesse fatto spegnere la TV prima delle quattro di notte, forse avrebbero già fatto un pezzo come Stereolab.
Anche se gli Ornaments più adatti per il nostro stereo saranno sempre i mostri neuro core di Gherardi e Zanotti, la band con base a Londra e accasata per la Slumberland records si è rivelata lo stesso una delle sorprese più piacevoli di questa stagione. Anche se forse gli ampli che useranno qui a Roma, li avranno inzottati ai Real Estate.

If they will ever come for a tour in Italy, we're pretty curious to see what kind of ornament they would put over their amps.
For sure, for The Proper Ornaments, the first thing popping up off their luggage, to make their hotel room more comfortable, will be a silver frame, showing some picture of Velvet Underground or Guided by Voices.
Twist of fate and the joy of those promoters which love to present their events with puns, The Proper Ornaments have been on tour with Real estate.
A less nerd attitude than Martin Courtney and Matthew Mondanile's band, these guys are on loop with 60's music.
With Wooden Head, the ensemble - which features ex members of Veronica Falls - shows how they look to the past not like an empty house, but like if it was furnished by some friends of Crystal Stilts, with no sense of death, but, with a wide view over the hobby room of Toy. If Supreme Dicks had had an attitude closer to post-modernism, and some of their neighbors would have intimated to switch off the TV at 4 o'clock in the morning, maybe they will sound like Stereolab.
Although we'll be always more fond with our local neuro-core Ornaments, by Gherardi and Zanotti, the ones from London, homed to Slumberland records, are still an exciting new surprise from last season. And maybe they will use the same amps rent by Real Estate.
