Qualche giorno fa eravamo convinti che i Serpe in Seno suonassero qui a Roma in un'interessante serata all'interno dell'Orto insorto. Controllando all'ultimo ci siam accorti che non si trattava di loro, ma di un'omonima band autoctona di hip hop.
Per vari disguidi non sappiamo come sia andata poi l'iniziativa al Quadraro. Noi per un po' comunque continueremo a piantare le nostre zucchine con in cuffia il loro Ovoviparo ep. Di duo chitarra-basso e batterie che provano a testare il picchio massimo di distorsioni e amusicalità effettivamente in giro ne stanno spuntando già da un po' a mazzi folti come il prezzemolo.

L'ensemble trevigiano però sembra avere un motore caldo come i Godflesh e un attitudine al massacro pari a quella degli Unsane.
Una certa propensione a essere concisi non guasta.
In una loro bio su FB leggevamo che nel loro suono si può sentire anche gli slanci della voce del grande Cedric Bixler.
E' vero, al sesto ascolto consecutivo di Joey the paper boy, siamo sicuri che il cantante dei Mars Volta urli: “Mi piacciono i Serpe in seno”.

After a double check, we realized it was not them, but a local homonymous band making hip-hop music.
Unfortunately, we did not get to be there, so we don't know how the show went, there at Quadraro, anyway we're sure we'll have their Ovoviparo EP on our headphones, next time we plant zucchini in our back garden.

In recent times, in Italy a lot of this kind of two-piece noise-rock bands are popping out, bass and drums, testing the extreme pitch of distortion and loudness. We got a lot of them, actually. Bushy, like parsely. This ensemble from Treviso (northern Italy), anyway, seems to have a hot engine like Godflesh and an attitude to massacre similar to Unsane.
An inclination to compose short tracks is another bonus from them.
In their bio on FB, we read that in their sound you can also detect something like the vocal bursts of the great Cedric Bixler.
Yeah, so true. After a heavy-rotation of Joey the paper boy, now we are sure that the Mars Volta's vocalist is screaming: “I like Serpe in seno”.
