A new release for dutch three-piece band Labasheeda.
Two electric guitars, drums, and singer Saskia Van Der Giessen's howling voice register, a vibrating romance, with both feet into 90's noise indie rock.
No post-production frills, their DIY attitude sound keeps again faith solely to the special efx of a couple of fuzz and delay pedals, plus a violin to add some charm. Though, I think that some more mastering would not affect that bad to their formula, especially because of the lack of a bassist, which is pretty notable to my ears this time. A little help for the backbone, although they use here and there a baritone six-string.
They have a kind of aggressive catalyst of angularity in each track which scratches you, you bleed, but its dissonance does not kill (Last Ride guitar finale).
Think Sleater-Kinney and PJ Harvey: they're passionate with sharp sense.
Anyway, thumbs up and turn up the volume on On Tippy Toes, Light Blind Dark Intentions, A & A.

Due chitarre elettriche, batteria, e il timbro di voce ululante della cantante Saskia Van Der Giessen, un vibrante romanticismo con entrambi i piedi nell'indie noise rock anni 90.
Nessun fronzolo da post-produzione, tengono la loro attitudine DIY fedele unicamente agli effetti speciali di pedali fuzz e delay, più un violino che guarnisce qua e lù un po' di charm. Credo però che un po' di masterizzazione ad hoc non avrebbe fatto male, specie perchè non hanno un bassista, e se ne sente un po' la mancanza a questo giro. Una piccola botta in più alla spina dorsale per farli stare dritti, insomma. Per quanto usino poi una chitarra baritono.
Hanno una sorta di catalizzatore di aggressività angolare in ogni traccia, che ti riesce a graffiare, ma sanguini un po' e non ti uccide con la dissonanza (il finale di chitarra di Last Ride).
Pensate a Sleater-Kinney e PJ Harvey: appassionati ma con controllo al taglio.
