The R's (formerly The Record's) with a brand new EP, filled with kicking-ass songs that would make the day of fans of The Beach Boys and The Flaming Lips.
The R's (precedentemente The Record's) tornano con un EP nuovo di zecca, farcito di canzoni di tutto rispetto che non deluderebbero i fan di Beach Boys e The Flaming Lips.
One more time they ride the charming indie pop side of garage rock, wisely blended with potential sing-a-long writing: hear the falsetto in Unkind and the following spacewalk synth-powered refrain, as well as the catchy percussive structure of Jo, - also a mere power-up in the following In Heaven I Used To Believe (new drummer Mauro Gambardella, replacing core member Gaetano Polignano, does his work).
No doubt, the italian trio excells again in dynamics and harmonies, making of them a solid unit. They well balance a measure of sunny moments with more experimental hooks, rhythmic bumps, two vocals, good for being radio-friendly, as well for a more alternative audience. Thumbs up.

Ancora una volta cavalcano l'affascinante lato indie pop del garage rock, sapientemente mescolato con un potenziale di sing-a-long nella scrittura: sentite il falsetto in Unkind e la passeggiata spaziale seguente del ritornello su serpentine di synth, o anche l'ossatura percussiva dell'accattivante Jo; ecco, il lavoro di batteria è un mero power-up anche nella successiva In Heaven I Used To Believe (il nuovo batterista Mauro Gambardella, in sostituzione di Gaetano Polignano, fa il suo sporco lavoro).
Senza dubbio, il trio nostrano eccelle di nuovo in dinamiche ed armonia, facendone un tuttuno solido. Bilanciano bene misure di momenti solari con pigli più sperimentali, picchi ritmici, le due voci, tutto adatto alla radio quanto ad un pubblico con esigenze più alternative. Pollice sù.
