Penso che, quando si crede in ciò
che si fa, fare una cosa è sempre meglio che non farla... almeno non rimane il
rammarico di non averla fatta; scusate
il gioco di parole ma per me rimane semplicemente una questione di fatti. La Goodbye Boozy Records
l'ho conosciuta grazie alla fanzine cartacea MIMETICS a cura della Wild Week End di Teramo;
cazzo devo proprio dire che da quelle parti voglia di fare le cose non manca... tutte adatte a stomaci forti e palati
fini. In questo caso l'etichetta abruzzese è stata molto audace trasformando in
supporto vinilico le folli registrazioni in cassetta della Burger Records. Gli Audacity vengono dalla California,
più precisamente da Fullerton; sono sporchi, rozzi e sguaiati... quindi c'è
tutto l'occorrente per farmi impazzire. Il 7' è composto da due canzoni tutte
sullo stesso lato; Vape Victim è un surf distorto
talmente lo-fai che le tavole si inabissano nel garage più oscuro. Indian Chief è il secondo pezzo, credo
che se avesse potuto girare ai tempi delle guerre ai nativi d'America, i
pellerossa avrebbero collezionato molti più scalpi; qui infatti sonorità punk penetrano
nelle ossa tanto incazzate come la furia omicida di chi non ha più niente da
perdere.
Basterebbe questo per appagare il mio impeto musicale... ma la Goodbye Boozy Records la sa lunga e nel lato B ci regala una bonus track; “hey play also this side ENJOY!” e gli Audacity mettono in atto una versione talmente perfida di I Get Around che Wilson e soci sembrano dei chierichetti a confronto.
Il packaging è spartano ma stiloso e questo episodio della saga Goodbye Boozy Records è disponibile con tre differenti cover; come si dovrebbe sempre fare i ragazzi abruzzesi hanno deciso di risparmiare sul superfluo investendo su quello che più conta.
Me ne compiaccio.

I met Goodbye Boozy Records through the paper fanzine MIMETICS by Wild Week End, from Teramo (IT); fuck, I must say that people from that area have the right passion for doing things... suitable for all palates and strong stomachs. In this case the label from Abruzzi was very audacious in processing the original tape recordings of Burger Records, turning them in a vinyl.
Audacity are from California, precisely, from Fullerton; they are dirty, rude and trivial... I mean, there's everything you need to drive me crazy.
This 7 inches has two A-songs on the same disc's side; Vape Victim is a distorted surf track, such so lo-fi that surf-boards come swallowed into the darkest of garage music. Indian Chief, track number two, I think that if this could have been around during the time of wars with the Native American Indians, the redskins would have cut more scalps; here it is, pissed off punk music which penetrates into the bones, as the murderous rage of those who don't have anything left to lose.
These two should be enough to satisfy my needs.. but Goodbye Boozy Records know how to deal with people like me, and on the B side they add a bonus track; “hey play also this side ENJOY!” and Audacity come out with a evil version of I get around that, which makes Wilson and Co. look like altar boys, on comparison.
The packaging is pretty spartan, yet, with style, and this episode from Goodbye Boozy Records' saga is available in three different artworks; Abruzzo boys have decided to save on unnecessary, investing in what matters most. Thumbs up.
