Subtle, lenitive, soothing, hints of classical, orchestral pop music, enriched  with electronics, all driven gently with acoustics and wind instruments, plus tinkling bells, guitars and whispered male vocals: one-man band Nick Rivera, from Sardinia, Italy, we might say he successfully doses those textural melodies of wonderment of Efterklang and Múm with the cradle songs of Dead Western (Butter in my head): that means, a hidden treasure indeed, one more time showed under the faint lights of the indie niche. That's why we're here.
Nick Rivera, aka Michele Sarti, previously joined gems such as Sunny Days Sets Fire, Franklin Delano, Oh Atoms: his solo project Happy Song is a Happy Song is music of early morning psychedelia for breakfast, or to fall down at bed, at night, dead tired and supply the needed magic for the REM sleep.
The EP collects floating instrumental interludes (Renée Luise, Happy song is a happy song) and songs with lyrics, also able to play carefree parenthesis (Horn Y Orgy), yet, constantly feeding up a sense of class and elegance (apotheosis in the crescendo of Feathers), cerebral sound food, musical textures which mix sugar and bitter, all fully compelling. Warmly recommended.
