Let's start from the side purely visual and tactile: CD packaging, a white cardboard gatefold, and a booklet framing a set of photographs taken by Fabio Orsi. Exquisite taste, let me say.
Said that, one more time it's even too easy to me sharing my praise for Orsi's Music.
Originally from southern Italy, Taranto, Orsi moved in Berlin years ago, and in last five/seven years he's been literally prolific, focusing his experimentalism on hypnosis and estrangement/alienation ambient music, releasing his records through a large spectrum of niche indies.
Now the the debut on Boring Machines - it was just a matter of tim, - it looks like having been layered on five motionless movements, - sort of physical petrification, yet not sensorial, - this time more driven by synthesizer: the first four, pretty trascendental and insight static, searching for inner peace, the latter one, more percussive and analogue in its chaotic simplcity, avant-garde trance/trip-hop, always in a bath of droning loops and repetition, like a sudden review mirror picturing Seefeel's sound abstraction.
I mean, just grab it.
PS. I just (randomly) found out the hidden (to me) meaning of a boring machine. Onga, You smart guy.

Cominciamo dal versante visivo e meramente tattile: il packaging del CD, un cartoncino pieghevole, con all'interno un booklet che incornicia un set di fotografie scattate dallo stesso Fabio Orsi. Dal gusto squisito, direi.
Originariamente di Taranto, poi trasferitosi a Berlino anni fa, nell'ultime decade Orsi non s'è fatto troppo pregare a proliferare in dischi e partecipazioni, focalizzandosi su uno sperimentalismo da Musica ambient prettamente di estranazione e autoipnosi, pubblicando su un largo spettro di etichette indie di nicchia.
Ora il debutto su Boring Machines - ma sí, era solo questione di tempo, - che sembra essere articolato su cinque movimenti immoti, - sorta di pietrificazione fisica ma non sensoriale, - questa volta guidati principalmente dal synth: le prime quattro tracce, trascendentali e statiche, alla ricerca della pace interiore, e l'ultima, più percussiva e analogica nella sua semplicità caotica, un trance/trip-hop, sempre in un bagno di ripetizione e loop droni, quasi un improvviso sguardo nello specchietto retrovisore che inquadra per un attimo l'astrazione sonora dei Seefeel.
E quindi aggiungo solo di non farvelo scappare.
PS. Ho appena scoperto il significato nascosto (a me che non lavoro in fabbrica) di Boring Machine: alesatrice. Sottilissimo il caro Onga..
