Latest Butcher Mind Collapse's release - second full-length record - is probably their first step into a mature sound-production, which finally provides them the best glue to keep hold their multi-form nature made of spasmodic new-wave jazz (Flamless Hell), schizoid post-punk (The Forgetter guitars sound like performed by Daniel Ash) and drunken versatility alt-metal à la Mike Patton.
The obsessive rhythmic lines of Complicity, the voodoo rock-a-billy cut of Killing a Fly With a Sword, the frenzy with Guilty, the epic doom curvatures of Spiderwebs, - they get a cauldron full of psychotic, paranoic arrangements, where Jonathan Iencinella's vocals, deep or even guttural, grave and aroused, embody the band's spectacular freak-show.
Visions of grotesque, psychedelic digressions like gentlemen's cigarettes smoke in the air, lifless watching a slow-motion pole-dance (The Loss), mexican junk food on tables (Coming Times) served by vampire babes: - the band on stage, while someone gets choked behind you, well, is Butcher Mind Collapse. And the reason why you feel a little dirtier now.
