Not much information about this not-that-promotional CD: a few notes on the back of the cardboard CD sleeve, - band's name, album's title, link. That much.
I found out in internet these three guys are somewhere from the USA, and found room in a Czech indie record label called Minority, which released this EP (although with a different artwork) last year.
On tariffs and dicovery - their second work - is a low-profile post-math rock gem, wisely melodic, whispered, quiet male vocals, - a balance of Atombombpocketknife and Calla, if You allow me that.
Subtle dynamics, angular guitars, yet somewhat liquid (Call Confessions), and spacey. Calmed down ambients (Destroy A Village), - they walk on tiptoes even when they beat harder (Oh Pioneers), along melancholic and obsessive guitar riffs (All New Lows - probably the album's single) and precise drumming, - all helped out by an excellent sound production able to blend and measure volumes and unity.
Brilliantly emotive, somehow soporific, gentle and gently adrenalinic (Newborn Window) at the same time.

Decisamente non si son sprecati nel dare troppe informazioni con questo non-cosí-promo CD: poche note sul retro della tasca in cartoncino del disco, - nome del gruppo, titolo album, link. E nulla più.
Ma internet qualche risposta in più la dà, quindi ho trovato che trattasi di tre ragazzi di qualche parte negli USA, che si fa presto, e che hanno trovato spazio presso la indie record ceca Minority rec, che ha messo in catalogo lo stesso EP (ma con un altro artwork) lo scorso anno.
On tariffs and dicovery - loro secondo lavoro, - è un gioiellino di post-math rock che tiene un profilo basso, discreto, saggiamente melodico, sussurrato, la voce di lui mai sopra i toni, - un equilibrio fra Atombombpocketknife e Calla,- se mi è concesso.
Sottili dinamiche, chitarre dal suono angolare, ma al tempo liquido (Call Confessions), e spaziale. Ambienti sedati (Destroy a Village), camminano in punta di piedi pure quando picchiano duro (Oh Pioneers), saltando lungo riff di chitarra malinconici ed ossessivi (All New Lows - probabilmente il momento topico dell'album), nonchè batteria precisa, - tutto benedetto dall'invidiabile produzione dei suoni, capace di tener testa a volumi e unità.
