But God Created Woman, Bari, Italy, are one of those few indie/underground bands from here that still survive after more than 7 years making their own noise and they're still invisible to the most notwithstanding the good boiling blood: that's attitude.
Two records (the first via Psychotica - r.i.p. - the latter one with Gaffer rec), one 7'' split with Talibam! (via Holidays rec), european tour, and last July, this fascinating vinyl, co-released by the italian Musica per Organi Caldi and german label Monotonstudio.
So here we are, - four heart attacks, rancid male vocals, fast distorted sounds, bass, guitar, synth, and belligerent percussions, all mixed and mastered by Weasel Walter (The Flying Luttenbachers) by Fabio Magistrali, definitely something to play at loud volume.
Less attached to no-wave punk styles of their previous records (listen to the blasting, oblique guitars of Love your children), but still acid with some more structured and mature tracks.
You can't properly say Giona psychedelic, yet, for sure it's hypnotic, like the tension and voltage loaded with Mark Twain. And no idea why someone would call a song after that Roberto Calvi, but they did.

But God Created Woman, da Bari, sono uno di quei gruppi indie/underground nostrani che sopravvivono a 7 anni di noise, e che restano ancora nell'invisibile rispetto ai più, nonostante l'ottimo sangue bollente: direi che questa è attitudine.
Due dischi (il primo via Psychotica - r.i.p. - e poi la francese Gaffer rec), un 7'' split con Talibam! (sù Holidays rec), un tour europeo, e poi lo scorso luglio, questo affascinante vinile, coprodotto dall'italiana Musica per Organi Caldi e la tedesca Monotonstudio.
Quindi eccoci, - quattro attacchi cardiaci, voce di lui rancida, suoni veloci e distorti, basso, chitarra, synth, e percussioni belligeranti, - il tutto mixato e masterizzato da Weasel Walter (The Flying Luttenbachers) Fabio Magistrali, - definitivamente qualcosa da suonare a volume alto.
Meno attaccati agli stilemi no-wave punk dei precedenti dischi (ascoltatevi le schegge oblique di chitarra di Love your children), ma ancora diversamente acidi con dei pezzi strutturati con più ragione.
Non si potrà dire di Giona essere un pezzo psichedelico, ma per certo è ipnotico, come anche la tensione e voltaggio caricata da Mark Twain. E non ho idea del perchè qualcuno dovrebbe intitolare una canzone a quel Roberto Calvi, ma loro l'hanno fatto.
