Self-produced debut, EP release for this young five piece from Rome, Rituale Atomico play on the mystic, bluesy side of indie music: female vocals, Sonic Youth-ian feedback (Replicant Job) versus stoner guitar lines, they reach a sort of disturbed noise/psych rock balance.
That means, willy-nilly, a 90s american indie sound.
Let's say from the outset that Melania should improve her english, that here and there undermines the quality of the melody, - said that, Acid Atmosphere is a genuine single, the shortest song of the tracklist, and, personally, the more memorable accent of their demo, with a good play of percussions and guitars phrasing, - an adrenalinic stop&go, acid, - somehow something calling to my mind Star Pimp.
And more gold comes with Among The Pale Mountains in its over ten minutes lenght: a multicolour wah-walk/march through a psichedelic path of fuzz and tribal mid-tempo, a slow droning vortex, most stoned hippies would love to lose themselves in it. Its final three minutes guitar feedback end exactly as the song starts.. it's the tail which the dog was chasing at the beginning.. select repeat on your player, you can try to loop it, and it'll go fine for at least five times before You'll get enough. Same speech for Acid Atmosphere.
Enough good to make me curious to hear how they will define their sound in a next full-lenght release, hopefully soon.

Diciamo subito che Melania dovrebbe migliorare il suo inglese, che la qua e là compromette la qualità della melodia, - detto ciò, Acido Atmosphere è un singolo genuino, il più breve brano della tracklist, e, personalmente, l'accento più memorabile della loro demo, con un buon gioco di percussioni e fraseggio di chitarre, - un adrenalinico stop & go, acido, - in qualche modo qualcosa che mi richiama alla memoria gli amati Star Pimp, per chi Li ricorda.
Poi dell'altro oro viene con Among the pale Mountains, nei suoi oltre 10 minuti: un marcia wah wah multicolore, attraverso un percorso psichedelico di fuzz e tribali mid-tempo, un vortice lento di ronzii, credo che la maggior parte degli hippy più storditi amerebbero perdercisi dentro. I suoi ultimi tre minuti finali di feedback di chitarra sono la coda che lo stesso cane aveva cominciato a mordersi.. selezionate repeat sul lettore, è possibile tentare un loop, e andrà benone per almeno cinque volte prima di averne abbastanza. Stesso discorso per Acid Atmosphere.
