Unfortunately for us, common mortals, Sunny Day Sets Fire disbanded recently this year.
Luckly for us, front-man Mauro Remiddi is still giving echo to His own talented genius with Music via a solo project called Porcelain Raft: lo-fi dream/trance twee-pop, oneiric sounds, absolutely romantic, - Collection of Porcelain is - as written - a collection, a closet full of His most recent tunes.
Pure creativity, no wonder He recently toured Europe supporting Blonde Redhead.
The lo-fi attitude He feeds (After the Weather) in these recordings is the perfect key-brick for majestic and emotional melodies, elegant indeed, from I Found a Way, where New Order meet primitive shoegaze, to While I'm Here (the recent wow-ers around Wild Nothing should make a stop here, too), till Strange Feeling - it sounds like He floated among the coordinates of Parenthetical Girls and Deerhunter, - graced by a recourring melancholy, key-note of His harmonic songcraft. And His vocals, pure gentle ecstasy and poetry.
He tags His tracks as korean pop. Okay, I love korean pop. Genius. Criminally underrated.

Sdortunatamente per noi, comuni mortali, i Sunny Day Sets Fire son arrivati a fine corsa quest'anno.
Fortunatamente per noi, il Loro front-man Mauro Remiddi continua a dare eco al proprio talentuoso Genio attraverso il progetto solista Porcelain Raft: lo-fi dream/trance twee pop, suono onirico, assolutamente romantico, - Collection of Porcelain è - come da titolo - una collezione, una fotografia aggiornata di quelle canzoni più recenti che Lui si ritrova a registrare.
Pura creatività, non mi meraviglio che sia stato scelto personalmente dai Blonde Redhead per il Loro recente tour in Europa.
L'attitudine lo-fi che nutre nei suo pezzi (After the Weather in primis) è la perfetta chiave di Volta per delle melodie magistrali ed emozionali, del tutto eleganti, dalla I Found a Way, - dove i New Order sembrano abbracciare lo shoegaze più primitivo - oppure While I'm Here (coloro che ultimamente hanno scoperto Wild Nothing dovrebbero fare una pausa qui), sino Strange Feeling, - suona tutto quasi come se Lui fluttuasse fra le coordinate di Parenthetical Girls e Deerhunter, con una malinconia ricorrente, nota chiave della Sua scrittura armonica.
E poi c'è la Sua voce, - pura gentile estasi e poesia.
