Frankly, what They're doing here is utterly cathartic. A friend of mine brought to my attention that in english cathartic is used "In medicine, a cathartic is a substance which accelerates defecation" [wiki]. Okay, no, that's not what it means in italian. It's always about purification, but, meant as something gauzy, in its purest form, trascendental, - cathartic, actually. So, take it like that.
Entertainment in slow motion is Beauty through the lens of Melancholy, highly inspiring and elegant, gentle and celestial (My Psychedelic teacher). Since the very first track, Vincent.
I might fall asleep (in a good dream) listening to these songs, and I bet I would later wake up on a cloud. Maybe dead. Sort of balance among hypnosis and being visionary.
Entertainment in slow motion is Ka Mate Ka Ora's second full-lenght album, the perfect slow motion swan dive into the ethereal sea of shoegaze, the seraphical side of it. And before You touch the water after the jump, You would have all the time needed to see your life in a flashback.
Think early Low (the mute interlude of Pig'n sheep in a toothless dream) and Slowdive, then You might understand why Back Home would be the perfect song to die with. Yeah, these songs are deadly. A deadly fire You can't stop looking at (Come with the Fall), a slow sunrise after A night without moon (nearly epic in its divine chant, it made me think to The God Machine).
Slow is the(ir) rule, again. And everytime I listen to this record I keep feeling like surprised. It doesn't happen that often nowadays.
From Tuscany, Italy, Venturini brothers and Alberto Bini are helped out again by their close friend Samuel Katarro, coproducing the record and providing vocals and guitars on a couple of tracks, while Serena Altavilla from Baby Blue backing vocals on the sweet Suga, also featuring her bandmate Mirko Maddaleno playing guitar.
Stefano Venturini's voice is genuine poetry, weighty and full of pathos, poetry inside the tuneful poetry itself of Their songwriting.
I mean, if You don't give a chance to this album, there's no reason why You should still come back here reading komakino fanzine, and there's no reason why I should keep on writing it.
When these guys sent me their demo years ago, it was already clear to me They were next to release something majestic.. here it is.

Francamente, quello che fanno è altamente catartico. Musica che suona diafana, nella sua forma più pura, trascendentale direi.
Entertainment in slow motion è Bellezza attraverso la lente della Malinconia, fatta di un'ispiraizone più alta, elegante, gentile e celestiale (My Psychedelic teacher). Sin dalla prima traccia, Vincent.
Potrei addormentarmi ascoltando questo disco, per risvegliarmi su una nuvola. Probabilmente morto. Per certo sono canzoni che hanno un equilibrio di ipnosi e l'essere visionarie.
Entertainment in slow motion è il secondo disco dei Ka Mate Ka Ora, il perfetto volo d'angelo al rallenty nel mare etereo dello shoegaze, - il lato serafico. E prima di finire in acqua la Vostra vita Vi viene riproposta in un improvviso flashback.
Pensate ai primi Low (il muto interludio di Pig'n sheep in a toothless dream) e Slowdive, quindi potreste capire perchè dico che un pezzo quale Back Home sarebbe la canzone perfetta con cui morire. Queste sono canzoni mortali. Quanto mortale è il fuoco che non si può smettere a volte di guardare arrdere (Come with the Fall), o un lento albeggiare dopo A night without moon (veramente epico nel suo canto divinato, la mia mente è volata ai God Machine).
Lentamente è la (Loro) regola, ancora una volta la chiave di volta. E questo disco lo sto consumando come pochi.
Dalla Toscana, i fratelli Venturini e alberto Bini sono ancora una volta aiutati dall'amico Samuel Katarro, che oltre a coprodurre il disco suona la chitarra e canta qua e là, mentre Serena Altavilla dei Baby Blue controcanta la dolce Suga, pezzo che vede del suo gruppo anche Mirko Maddaleno, alla chitarra.
La voce di Stefano Venturini è genuina poesia, grave e piena di pathos, poesia nella melodiosa poesia stessa della scrittura del gruppo.
Davvero, se non date una chance a quest'album, non vedo perchè dovreste continuare a leggere komakino, e io non so perchè continuo a scriverla.
Quando questi ragazzi mi hanno spedito la prima demo anni fa, mi era già chiaro che prima o poi se ne sarebbero usciti con qualcosa di magistrale.. ed eccolo qui.
