Bandage are a power three-piece from Novara, northern Italy, - Their previous demos were already pretty interesting, - this new EP is definitely brilliant and ready for a wider audience, - sometimes enthrilling like Motorpsycho's 90s indie pop vein, or Sebadoh's one as well.
But they are from Italy. So sad for them. I can't count how many good Bands we're sacrificing downhere through the years waiting for something to happen.
Anyway.
Beautiful sharp male vocals, vibrations of noise rock and alternative pop epiphanies, elegant writing and phrasing, now wilder (Lokum's ride and rage), then more spiritual (Riverman), even ambitious somehow (EP's title-track, loaded with genuine excitement indeed), - a good balance of rhythm guitars and distorted - yet under control - sounds, - it is a real pity it is only four tracks, because all looks like being part of a missed full-lenght plan.

I Bandage sono un power trio di Novara, - i Loro precedenti demo erano già materia di interesse qui, - e questo nuovo EP è definitivamente brillante e pronto per una audience più ampia, - tant'è che qua e là suona eccitante quanto quella vena indie pop anni 90 dei Motorpsycho o perchè no, i Sebadoh.
Ma sono italiani. Poveri loro, poveri noi. Non so quante altre buone Band dovranno ancora sacrificarsi nei prossimi anni prima che le cose cambino, e se cambieranno mai.
Comunque sia.
Bello il cantato di lui, spesso tagliente nei toni, - poi vibrazioni di noise rock e illuminazioni alternative pop, scrittura e fraseggi mai a caso, ora selvaggi (la corsa e la rabbia di Lokum), ora più spirituali (Riverman), capaci anche di essere ambiziosi (la title-track dell'EP, veramente carica di genuina adrenalina), - un buon bilanciamento di rhythm guitars e suoni distorti (ma sempre sotto controllo), - insomma, un vero peccato che siano solo quattro tracce, perchè tutto pare come far parte di un LP mancato.
Last but not least, - il disco è sotto licenza Creative Commons, quindi sentiteVi liberi di scaricarlo gratuitamente, o fare un'offerta, o acquistarlo, - dipende da Voi.
