If the following names from the so called alternative/underground/hidden-into-the-deepest-dark italian scene are not that new to You, - Io Monade Stanca (AfricanTape) and Fuh (Smartz/Escape from Today), - probably You already heard of Nicolas, talented young man playing guitar in both the two.
So, now, solely with his name, Nicolas Joseph Roncea seen released last May his debut solo work, a collection of 8 tracks, going from the unplugged formula of folk guitar and vocals to some more rich arrangements of drums, trumpet, violin, à mon avis, finding its top with the final song A Day / A Week, sort of Pinback-ish sedate pop delicacy here, catchy up-tempo beats and guitar riffs, - it is worth the whole record.
The chatartic violence of IMS and Fuh's 90s noise rock are put aside, - Nicolas' vocals are here the vehicle of emotion, - him and his guitar, doubtless the driving force of this record. You'll find room to some more melancholic and intimate self-examination, - sort of Bright Eyes' pathos, - that kind of matter and inner pain coming out when You're alone in your bedroom, - it starts with you lying on bed and your acoustic guitar, and then, here it comes: the homesick and strings of 3-4, - it follows with Another Word, - with a beautiful gentle swell of electric guitar, - 3:20 am shyness, - as well with the bossa-indie pop chemistry of Blue Eyes.
Loads of brilliant melancholy tracks, no doubt about that, - I just have a reserve for his english now and then (In the snow), said that, thumbs up.

Qui, usando il uso nome per intero, Nicolas Joseph Roncea si vede pubblicato lo scorso maggio il suo primo lavoro solista, una collezione di 8 tracce che vanno dalla formula unplugged di chitarra folk e voce, sino ad arricchirsi di arrangiamenti più ampli con batteria, tromba, violino, - sino, à mon avis, a trovare il top nella canzone che chiude il disco, A Day / A Week, sorta di linea Pinback, pop sedato in tutta delicatezza, con un beat up-tempo e riff di chitarra accattivanti, - da sola vale il disco.
La violenza catartica di IMS e il noise rock stile 90s dei Fuh sono messi da parte, - la voce di Nicolas è il veicolo emozionale, lui e la sua chitarra, senza dubbio, le forze trainanti del disco. Introspezione malinconica e intima, - sorta di pathos à la Bright Eyes, quella maniera e dolore interiore che esce fuori quando Vi ritrovate da soli nella camera da letto, - comincia con voi sdragliati sul letto e accanto la Vostra chitarra acustica, - e quindi ecco che arriva: la nostalgia di casa e gli archi di 3-4, - segue con Another Word, - con un bel crescendo gentile dell'elettrica, - poi la timidezza di 3:20am, o anche l'alchemia bossa indie pop di Blue Eyes.
Una manciata di tracce malinconiche, questo senza dubbio, - io ho giusto qualche riserva sul cantato in inglese qua e là (In the snow), detto ciò, pollice sù.
