- Merc, one of ANL&LF's founding member, at the same time, was running His personal side project, IfWhen, - producing records distributed by Clairecords, Quattro Records (Japan), Goodbye Better and Quince Records.
Right today IfWhen are releasing a new 4 track EP, Null Set, four tunes of chaotic sound mayem under deconstruction and reconstruction, - a melodic cycle where the reading key is shaped around the most dissonant harmony, an ecstastic losing-your-self into what used to be a wall-of-sound, but, actually, that wall is ruining over your head.
Anyway, this harsh chaos-effect is just the first impact, - the following listenings teach You the way to feel the structure and perceive the effective leading melodic line, often given by Merc's vocals and the rhytm section, like with Fear of Heights and Linked, - two psychedelic assaults to the listener's mind. - Somehow They might have an approach closer to Pyramids, although more closer to a claustrophobia that to something celestial, - just to draw a coordinate.
I would be curious to see Them performing these songs live, - Their loops stations and gears.
