Okay, it's been a long wait, - but, finally here it comes, - Nastro's debut record, released by To Lose La Track, mixed and mastered by Scott Brown of goth crew Black Ice (USA).
From Rome and arounds, it's a sort of local indie all-stars group, seeing Manuel Cascone (Laser Tag, Bob Sleigh Baby, Calamita, sound engineering for a big slice of Rome-based alternative Music), Flavio Scutti (His solo project, Le Rose), Francesco Petricca (Vono Box), and Pierluca Zanda (Laser Tag), - a four piece focusing on funky angulat bass-lines (Peter Principle of Tuxedomoon would love this!) and catchy tempos matching electronic and live drumming (En telefunk's perfect mayem), - psychedelic obsessive beats (Bisturi), no-wave tribal animal tunes (Ha ha ha), synths and guitars like damaged electric cables.
The whole album sounds like recorded into the 70s, early 80s, post-abuse of Kraftwerk, NY no-wave (again), - Throbbling Gristle, - or just a natural anti-pop attitude to these coordinates, - for sure a white fly, out of time and place, in Italy.
Sometimes Cascone sings like a doubtful psychotic Amanda Lear (Nella sala video, Cestino di frutta, Cannibalismo), - with brillitant lyrics (in italian) on IMQ, the vocoder sex maniac of Autobus, - or gets wilder and Pere Ubu-esque in Frate Ubu, or poetic-futurist on Velocità/Uuu (a double track, fully groovy).
Totally spastic-danceable and idiotic in Their own twisted genius, well structured and suitable like an electro-shock treatment.

Da Roma e dintorni, è una sorta di gruppo all-stars dell'indie nostrano, che vede Manuel Cascone (Laser Tag, Bob Sleigh Baby, Calamita, sound engineering per una bella fetta dell'attuale no-scena capitolina), Flavio Scutti (progetto solista, Le Rose), Francesco Petricca (Vono Box), e Pierluca Zanda (Laser Tag), - in quattro a produrre linee di basso funky angolare (Peter Principle dei Tuxedomoon amerebbe tutto ciò) e accattivanti ritmiche che sposano drumming elettronico e live (il caos/caso perfetto di En telefunk), - beats psichedelico/ossessivo (Bisturi), escandescenze animali e no-wave tribali (Ha ha ha), synth e chitarre come cavi elettrici lasciati scoperti.
Tutto il disco suona come registrato tardo anni 70, primi 80, - post abuso di ascolti e intuizioni di Kraftwerk, NY no-wave (e tre), Throbbling Gristle, - o forse è giusto tutta una naturale propensione antipop che guida sulle stesse coordinate, - per certo una mosca bianca, fuori dal tempo e luogo in Italia.
A volte Cascone canta come un dubbio psicotico Amanda Lear (Nella sala video, Cestino di frutta, Cannibalismo), - con testi brillanti (in italiano) come quello di IMQ ('[..] ho camminato col piede sul filo del rasoglio | elettrico | lascio sempre i miei dischi sul termosifone | il computer a renderizzare nel forno | ho scambiato per un vibratore il saldatore' - ohh infanzia perduta davanti la tv educatrice), il maniaco sessuale sotto vocoder di Autobus, - o la selvaggia accelerazione Pere Ubu-esca di Frate Ubu, - nonchè l'anima poetico-futurista di Velocità/Uuu (una traccia doppia, pienamanete contagiosa).
Del tutto spastico-ballabile, e idiota nel suo genio perverso, - il Loro disco è ben strutturato e appropriato quanto una cura con l'elettroshock.
