Cimino è indiscutibilmente il regista delle montagne, due tre scene de il Cacciatore potrebbero parlare da sole, ma vabbè quello è un film hors-categorie.
Il senso di eternità, distacco e magnificenza delle vette del Wyoming nei confronti delle minuscole e incessanti pratiche predatorie della razza umana ne I Cancelli del cielo mette i brividi.
Nella musica un senso di totale alterità e possenza incurante di tutto il resto ultimamete lo abbiamo trovato solo negli Om. Non so come siamo messi con la deriva dei continenti, ma il suono di una possibile frattura terrestre che unisca il Tibet al deserto di Palm Spring non potrà che avere le vibrazioni ultraterrene di God is Good.
Nello stoner di inzio anni novanta il gruppo con la classe più cristallina rimarrà per sempre Kyuss di quel cazzone di Josh Homme. La formazione che ha seguito però con più misticità la pratica della psichedelia è indiscutibilmente quella degli Sleep.
Non vogliamo minimamente parlare di quel disco allucinante di Jerusalem, è sintomatico però come Marler dopo Volume One si ritirò per sette anni in un monastero.
Cisneros e Hakius invece, basso e batteria dopo la fine del sonno hanno creato gli immani Om (poi nel 2008 Hakius lascia, e viene sostituito da Emil Amos, già Grails).
Tanti stronzi fanno i gradassi a registrare i dischi in chiese sconsacrate. I nostri in modo minimale hanno reso perfettamente il senso di circolarità e ossessione delle preghiere monastiche in un concept dilatato psichedelico e irresitibile.
La cosa assurda è che il più delle volte ci riescono solo con basso e batteria. Giovedí suonano all'init di Roma.
Sono tentato di portare il mio bongo e improvvisare con loro.
Se venite o datemi un calcio nelle palle o unitevi alle preghiere.

That sense of eternity, detachment and magnificence of Wyomin's picks, by comparison with the minuscule and endless human race's predatory behaviours in Heaven's Gate, - it simply gives me the shivers.
In last times, it's only in Om's music that i found that feeling of diversity and nonchalant might being.
I don't know at what point of the Continental drift we are, - but a possible sound of that crustal plate crashing, and joining Tibet with Palm Spring desert, - that final vibration is own of God is Good.
In 90s stoner music, for sure Kyuss and that bad-ass of Josh Homme will stay on the top of the mountain, because of their crystalline style.
But, if you are looking for those who more than everyone joined the mystic experience of the psychedelic side, - the name is Sleep.
I can't write here a review of those blowing-mind record called Jerusalem, - but it's symptomatic that Marler, after Volume One, retired in a monastery for seven years.
Band-mates Cisneros and Hakius, bass and drums, - at the end of the sleep established the palatial Om (later in 2008, Hakius quiet, and been replaced by Emil Amos, of Grails).
Countless idiots record their albums in a deconsecrated church. Ours, in a minimal manner, found the perfect balance of those feeling of circularity and obsession for the monastic prayers, in an expanded psychedelic concept, - totally irresistible.
And, how amazing, - most of times they do it just with bass and drums.
Next thursday they play a show downhere in Rome.
I'm tempted to carry a bongo drum with me, and improvise with them.
So, if You're coming too, - kick my ass or join the prayer.
