Sator is Gastaldello's second release; - somehow the record's title should warn You about its intrinsic esoterism and declaration of intent: the Sator Square is, for the records, an unsolved ancient mystery, - suitable palindrome symbol for the album's straight and recourring geometries.
So, Mamuthones' new album, out on Boring Machines, is a synonymous dictionary for words such as hypnotism, chatarsis, holy, - primitive holiness, actually, - arcane, paganism, - through an eight tracks of dark ambience, tribal captivity (Ota Benga - You should read something about the tragic life of this congolese pigmy), a high Mass spied through a peephole (2007-8-15), - psychedelia Vs mesmerism (drones and countless whispers in Carrying the Fire), - the perfect reverbs-made soundtrack for approaching unusual psychological fields of knowledge, - the complete opposite of a Top of the Pops' "next big thing".
While Ave Maria is a guided lesson to a new breathing, 10000 voices is the missing calling to 2001 A Space Odissey's monolite - fall and elevation, and Kash-o-kashak is almost parallel to SeeFeel's most trascendental shoegaze side.
I can only add i bought this and Their/His former record, - it's not a promo, - and that should tell You something about the value i recognize of Mamuthones (or how bad my taste for records is ;-)).

Sator è la di Lui seconda uscita; ciò in qualche modo dovrebbe darVi un suggerimento sul suo esoterismo intrinseco nonchè dichiarazione d'intenti: il quadrato del Sator è un mistero irrisoluto che si perde nel tempo, - un simbolo palindromo più che adatto per le geometrie dritte e ritornanti dell'album.
Uscito per Boring Machines, il disco è un libro di sinonimi per parole quali ipnotismo, catarsi, sacro, - senso primitivo del sacro, - arcano, paganesimo, - il tutto su otto tracce di atmosfera buia, - cattività tribale (l'Ota Benga - il titolo si rifa ad un pigmeo congolese, - storia interessante e tragica, cercatelo su wiki), una Messa solenne spiata da dietro a un buco nel muro (2007-8-15), - psichedelia contro mesmerismo (drone e innumerevoli voci sussurranti in Carrying the Fire), - la perfetta colonna sonora fatta di riverberi per approcciare insoliti stati psicologici di coscienza, - insomma, il completo opposto alla next big thing di un Top of the Pops.
Là dove Ave Maria è un percorso guidato al respirare, - 10000 voices è la chiamata mancante al monolite di 2001 A Space Odissey, - caduta ed elevazione, - mentre Kash-o-kashak è pressappoco una parallela al volto shoegaze più trascendentale dei SeeFeel.
Posso solo aggiungere che ho comprato sia questo che il precedente Suo disco, - non si tratta di star a recensire un promo, - e questo dovrebbe dirVi qualcosa sul valore che gli riconosco, - nonchè, magari, sul mio pessimo gusto per la Musica ;-).
