Che-bella-sorpresa. Benchè italiani, i One Starving Day sono prodotti dalla Planaria rec, di Washington. E se la fuga dei cervelli è riuscita, un motivo c'è. Inizialmente, nel presentarsi a metà tra GSBE! e Neurosis, mi ero fatto il pregiudizio 'il solito gruppo post-tarock che apre gli accordi e si masturba sul carica-carica-carica &splodi '.. e invece.. è proprio cosí! no scherzo: i One Starving Day
sono un Gruppo di meditazione e sensibilità noir, capace di tessere
eleganti trame di archi, piano, percussioni, chitarre, insieme a
sperimentalismi kraut-rock, per poi incoronare tutto con una latente
ferocia hard-core (principalmente per la voce del cantante - sullo
straziato urlante per le ferite sanguinanti, come sul crescendo di Black Star Aeon).
Non è un disco per una bella giornata di sole, - non è da ascoltare in
spiaggia, - salvo alienazione post-bomba atomica (questa è la
sensazione di Silver Star Domain): è un disco oscuro, benchè
pieno di suoni brillanti (ottima la produzione), in un groviglio di

What-a-great-surprise. Notwistanding the One Starving Day are from italy, this album has been released by Washington based Planaria rec. Because initially They introduced Them-selves as between GSBE! and Neurosis, i confess that initially i had my usual preconception 'one more anonymous postrock band with open chords and no idea of what doing but crescendo-crescendo-EXPLODE'; - but, well, i was totally wrong. The One Starving Day are a Band of pure noir meditation and nois, - able of weaving elegant woofs by arcs, piano, percussions, guitars - together with kraut-rock experimentalisms, followed by a latent hard-core fierceness (principally driven by singer's voice, - on the wave of the screaming for an endless inner pain - like on the unexpected evolve of Black Star Aeon). This is not a disc for a beautiful sunny day, - and neithern You can hear it at the beach - except post-atomic alienation (this is the image i have of Silver Star Domain): it is an obscure album, full of bright sounds (excellent production), in a knot of slow and cultured score.
