Damn good debut for Artists Kevin C. Smith (NY, usa) and Alina Simone (Kharkiv, Ukraine), The Artificial Sea's core. Tunnel Visions
is on heavy rotation on my current playlist, such it's obscure, full of
desperate love, catchy, - a combination of upbeat, broken heart cello,
guitars and subtle melancholic vocals. Alina's gentle voice makes me think of a fragile soul between Bjork (Things We Spent) and Cat Power (Ride This Thing), - and if i mentioned to Portishead it might only be reductive, if not in reason of the great attention given by Kevin to composition (Better Living's trip hop ambient), programming, minimal electronics and sound samples in use. The Light Of 1,000 Televisions, as well Vor (perfect in its chorus), Milemaker's dramatic beauty or the enchanting lullaby on diamonica Things We Spent made
this album simply imaginative, delicate and even perfect if chosen as a
melodies box to play before You sleep. Warmly suggested. [see below for mp3s]

Tunnel Visions è in continua rotazione nella mia playlist corrente, - tanto è oscura, piena di amore disperato e charme, - una combinazione di upbeat, violoncello da cuore spezzato, chitarre e sottili malinconiche liriche. La voce gentile di Alina mi fa pensare ad un'anima fragile tra Bjork (Things We Spent) e Cat Power (Ride This Thing), e se poi mensionassi i Portishead potrebbe solo che essere riduttivo, se non in ragione della grande attenzione data da Kevin alle composizioni (senti il trip-hop di Better Living), programming, elettroniche minimali e ai campioni audio in uso. The Light Of 1,000 Televisions, come anche Vor (perfetta nel suo ritornello), la bellezza drammatica di Milemaker o l'incantevole lullaby su diamonica di Things We Spent hanno reso questo album semplicemente fantasioso, delicato e anche perfetto se scelto come box di melodie da ascoltare prima di addormentarsi. Sinceramente d'ispirazione.
