Just one step far from calling them self like a cartoon of my childhood, Kiss Me Emily's young ensemble, from Forlì, Italy, releases the first full-lenght album via ForEars, collecting 10 tracks of brilliant dance rock music, almost light new-wave, - somehow with a feeling previously sensed with Confuse the Cat, Aberdeen, as well with The Shadow Line, - just because there's no always need to pass the boundary. Probably less experienced, - btw, often energizing and catchy, also thanks to a good sound production: here You are the good final swell in The World We Believe In, and the tactically infectious chorus of No More Regrets, - two pop gems, potential hit singles for an indie dancefloor. Look, there's one track entitled Dance, - it will not do less than its name suggests: here, as in each other song of 10, the dry dancy beats rule the songwriting dynamics, and vocalist Nicola Rosetti does his best in singing his carefree melancholy. - But maybe the whole feeling still misses the point to leave a real sign (- generally, that's a personal necessary criticism to post when it's clear the band's ideas are good), that one able to feed that sensation of beauty and difference, - just in case You meant to listen to this album also out of the disco, - maybe, in your room, alone.

Ad un passo dal chiamarsi come un cartone della mia infanzia, il giovane ensemble Kiss Me Emily, da Forlì, pubblicano il primo album gusto lungo su ForEars, - una collezione di 10 tracce di brillante dance rock, quasi leggera new-wave, - in qualche modo con un sentimento avvertito in precedenza con Confuse the Cat, Aberdeen, o The Shadow Line, - giusto perchè non sempre c'è bisogno di andare fuori confine. Probabilmente con meno esperienza, ciò nonostante spesso non meno energizzanti e orecchiabili, anche grazie ad una buona produzione dei suoni: ecco quindi il gran finale in crescendo di The World We Believe In, e il ritornello tatticamente accattivante di No More Regrets, - due gemme pop, potenziali hit single per una pista da ballo indie. Toh, ecco una traccia a titolo Dance, - non verrà meno a quanto suggerisce il suo nome: e qui come in ogni altra canzone delle 10, i secchi ritmi danzerecci della batteria comandano le dinamiche della scrittura, e il vocalist Nicola Rosetti fa il suo meglio per cantare la sua spensierata malinconia. Forse però il feeling dell'album ancora manca il vero punto per lasciare un segno (in genere questa è una personale critica che si fa quando si sente che le idee sono promettenti), quella differenza capce di alimentare una sensazione di bellezza e differenza, - giusto in caso che si intendesse continuare ad ascoltare l'album anche fuori della discoteca, magari a casa propria, da soli.
