In the modern age of tech, You won't hurt yourself with a rusted nail in the wall, I mean, You'll hurt, but because of a USB flash drive.. At least in NY, currently.
Mr Aram Bartholl gave a better description of the conceptual idea behind this new urban oddity. It's all about dead drop vs live drop.
