Piano and female vocals are the key roles in Mimes of Wine, solo project for Laura Loriga, native of Bologna but also connected with California, where She mostly toured with Her local live band in last two years.
First full-lenght album following Her self-titled EP, released last January, , songs written in three years; - a small crowd of musicians support Her playing guitars, wind instruments, glitch, strings, bells, drums, all to weave a passionate sometimes theatrical state of mind, with a constant emotional peak, dreamy and painful.
The beauty of this album sounds direct, - one or two tracks are enough to assume the fragile and melancholic feeling making its strenght: sometimes it sounds to me like if Shannon Wright played keyboards (K, Long Lifting Road) and Bat for Lashes and Amanda Rogers were singing (Fishes), - here and there backgrounded by a jazz parenthesis dear to Josephine Foster (the beautiful psychedelic guitar play in Oberkampf suddenly turning into a quick and funny swing movement).
Laura's voice is gentle and graced by harmony, Her lenitive melodies are a perfect ornament for the next book You'll open and read.

Piano e voce sono i ruoli chiave di Mimes of Wine, progetto solista di Laura Loriga, nativa di Bologna ma anche connessa con la California, dove per la maggior parte si è esibita dal vivo con la Sua band locale negli ultimi due anni.
Primo album che fa seguito al precedente omonimo EP, pubblicato a inizio anno, le canzoni sono il frutto di tre anni di scrittura; una piccola folla di musicisti l'ha aiutata quindi suonando chitarre, strumenti a fiato, glitch, archi, campanelli e percussioni, - il tutto a tessere uno stato mentale appassionato quanto a volte teatrale, con un costante apice emozionale, sognante e doloroso.
La bellezza di questo Apocalypse sets in appare istantanea, - una o due tracce sono sufficienti per desumerne il sentimento di fragilità e malinconia che ne fa la forza: per me a volte suona come se Shannon Wright suonasse le tastiere (K, Long Lifting Road) e Bat for Lashes e Amanda Rogers si mettessero a cantare (Fishes), - qui e lì con rimembranze di parentesi jazz care a Josephine Foster (il bel gioco di chitarra in psichedelia in Oberkampf all'improvviso ribaltato in un veloce e divertente movimento swing).
La voce di Laura è gentile e in grazia dell'Armonia, le di Lei melodie lenitive sono un perfetto ornamento per il prossimo libro che aprirete e leggerete.
